How To Make The Best Cheesy Weber Q Omelette?

My Weber Q omelette recipe is super cheesy and packed with protein and iron. The perfect breakfast to kickstart the day.

It’s super easy to prepare and even easier to bake in your Weber Q.

Weber Q Omelette

Omelette is one of my favourite recipes to cook for myself and the family on my Weber Family Q when we are camping.

It fills you up super fast, and the kids don’t complain they are hungry one hour later.

The omelette serves around 4 people quite comfortably because it can be quite filling.

Sadly there is a little bit of preparation before cooking, but you can let the Weber Q do the rest after that.

What Ingredients do I Need to Make a Weber Q Omelette?

To make a cheesy protein-packed omelette, you will require a few ingredients.

But these are entirely optional, and you are free to add or remove any of my ingredients if you wish.

Weber Q Omelette

I’ve included in my Weber Q omelette:

  • Eggs
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Bacon
  • Mushroom
  • Capsicum
  • Onion
  • A little bit of Garlic Powder
  • Salt & Pepper

Other ingredients you might want to add to your omelette might be:

  • Tomatoes
  • Avocado
  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Chorizo
  • Lobster
  • Prosciutto
  • Crab

I thought I would keep my omelette as simple as possible because this recipe was adapted for a camping style breakfast.

How to Prepare the Omelette?

Preparation is really straightforward but does require a bit of extra work. But it’s worth it!

Begin by dicing the bacon, mushrooms, onion, and capsicum.

Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl or pyrex measuring jug, then add the milk to the egg.

Grap a 30cm x 20cm x 4cm baking dish and spray the bottom with a bit of cooking spray.

You can grab a cheap roasting set from Pyrex which comes in a pack of two that works great.

Disposable aluminium trays are fine to use also. Just make sure to use a size similar to mine.

Pour the egg into your baking dish. Then evenly spread the diced mushroom, onion, capsicum, and bacon.

Finally, sprinkle the onion powder.

Before grating the cheese, it’s time to preheat the Weber Q.

Place your convection tray and trivet onto the grill for indirect cooking.

Turn both gas control knobs to the START/HI position for the Family Q and the single gas control knob to HI for Baby Q owners.

Close the lid and heat your Weber Q for 10 minutes. Just enough time to begin grating the cheese.

Grate enough cheddar and mozzarella cheese to fill one cup each.

Evenly sprinkle the cheese across the top of the baking dish, then gently mix the cheese through the egg.

Lastly, add the salt and pepper over the top, and the omelette is now ready to cook in your Weber Q.

How to Cook Omelette in Your Weber Q?

Cooking the omelette in your Weber Q is the most straightforward step.

Weber Q Omelette

Simply place your baking dish on the centre of your trivet and close the lid on your Weber Q.

Family Q: Turn the small gas control knob to the off position and the large gas control knob 3 notches down from the HI setting.

Baby Q: Turn the gas control knob down 3 to 4 notches from the HI position.

Try to maintain a temperature between 220°C (430°F) and 230°C (440°F) at all times for 35 minutes.

And most importantly, no peaking!

Use a fork or skewer to check if the eggs are light and fluffy or the top is golden brown.

Then allow your Weber Q omelette 5 minutes to cool before serving.
