Grilled Weber Q Moroccan Chicken Recipe

Sharing is caring!

Weber Q Moroccan chicken is incredibly tender, succulent and full of exotic flavours. It’s super easy to prepare and an excellent dish for entertaining at home.

Weber Q Moroccan Chicken

There are just some recipes that turn out amazing when I’m grilling on my Weber Q.

And Moroccan chicken is just another one that I’m sure you’re going to love.

Combine it with my homemade creamy mint tzatziki sauce. And the flavour of the chicken takes this recipe to a whole new level.

And the best part is it can be baked in the oven as well.

Simply wrap the chicken in aluminium foil for 35 minutes and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 35 minutes.

Then uncovered for a further 5 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 74°C (165°F).

Ingredients to make Weber Q Morrocan Chicken

Weber Q Moroccan Chicken
  • 2 skinless chicken breasts (filleted in halves)
  • 4 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/8 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 bunch fresh parsley
  • 1/2 bunch fresh coriander

How to make the delicious marinade?

The process to make the marinade is really easy.

Remember that it will need to be made ahead. It must marinate overnight so the chicken can thoroughly absorb the flavours.

Weber Q Moroccan Chicken

First, add all ingredients to a food processor, except for the fresh coriander, parsley and chicken.

Pulse the ingredients together 6-7 times to mince the garlic.

Next, add fresh coriander and parsley and continue pulsing until it resembles a chopped appearance.

Try not to pulse to the point that the fresh herbs are pureed.

Weber Q Moroccan Chicken

Fillet two chicken breasts into halves lengthwise, then place them into a zip-lock bag.

Then pour the marinade into the bag and toss to evenly coat all of the chicken.

And finally, place the chicken into the fridge overnight.

If you have to grill the Weber Q Morrocan chicken on the same day, let it absorb the marinade for at least 4 hours.

Pro Tip: While the chicken is marinading, flip the bag over every time you open the fridge throughout the day. This makes sure the chicken is always coated in the marinade.

How to grill Moroccan chicken on the Weber Q?

It’s go time! Let’s get this chicken grilling on the Weber Q.

Pre-heat your Weber Q for 10 minutes on START/HIGH with the lid down.

Family Q: Turn both gas control knobs to the START/HIGH position and close the lid.

Weber Q Moroccan Chicken

Place the chicken directly onto the centre of the grill.

Close the lid and let cook for 5-6 minutes on HIGH per side.

If you’re grilling on the Family Q, leave both gas control knobs at the HIGH position.

Pro Tip: If you want those famous Weber Q Moroccan chicken grill lines, lay the chicken on the grill at the 10 o’clock position for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. Then rotate to the 3 o’clock position for a further 2 1/2 to minutes. Flip and do the same on the other side.

After 5-6 minutes, flip the chicken over and continue grilling for a further 5 minutes.

Grill until the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F), which is the safe eating temperature.

I highly recommend using an instant-read thermometer to guarantee the chicken safe to eat.

The one I use and highly recommend is the Inkbird Instant Read thermometer.

Weber Q Moroccan Chicken

It’s on point and super quick when needing to get the internal temperature of my chicken.

Minimising how long I keep the lid of my Weber Q open.

Place the chicken onto a paper towel to rest for 5 minutes and serve with my delicious homemade creamy mint tzatziki sauce.
