Cheesy Weber Q Garlic Bread (Made for Camping)

Sharing is caring!

Soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside, this Weber Q garlic bread recipe is super easy to make and tastes as it came straight from an Italian restaurant.

Weber Q Garlic Bread

Nothing compares to homemade, especially when talking about garlic bread and pizza.

Now I know it’s easier to buy frozen, but why would you. When you see how easy this garlic bread is to make from scratch, you’ll never buy frozen again.

Try making Weber Q garlic bread and pair it with my Weber Q meat-lovers pizza or cheesy stuffed crust pizza, and you’ll be sorted out in the bush.

You’ll only need one more essential ingredient, a beer to enjoy them with!

Why do you wrap garlic bread in aluminium foil?

Wrapping garlic bread in aluminium foil helps to keep the bread nice and soft in the middle and prevents the bread from burning.

It also keeps cleanup a breeze, as the foil holds all the mess.

Can I use 1 or 2-day old bread?

Yes absolutely! I often buy multiple loaves of bread and freeze one right away just to make Weber Q garlic bread on another day.

Bread softens when heated in aluminium foil, making it ideal for making garlic bread instead of throwing it in the trash.

And it always tastes as it came just from the bakery.

Ingredients you’ll need to make Weber Q garlic bread.

Only 7 ingredients go into making my garlic bread recipe, making it so simple to prepare.

Weber Q Garlic Bread

You’ll need:

  • White Vienna bread (or french)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)

How to make awesome garlic butter?

You might be asking why I’m combining garlic powder with freshly minced garlic.

By mixing the two, you enhance the garlic flavour without overpowering it. Cool huh?

Weber Q Garlic Bread

Allow the butter to soften, then combine with garlic powder, freshly chopped parsley and salt.

Next, using the back of a fork, mash the ingredients together. Easy as! And you’re done.

Preparing Weber Q garlic bread?

Firstly you’ll need to set up your Weber Q for indirect cooking using a convection tray and trivet.

Then preheat your Weber Q for 10 minutes with the lid closed.

Preheat by turning the gas control knob/s to the START/HIGH position for 10 minutes.

Weber Q Garlic Bread

While your Weber is preheating, cut the bread into halves using a serrated knife.

Next, begin spreading the garlic butter over the entire surface of the bread.

Place the bread face down onto two sheets of aluminium foil, wrap both garlic bread pieces, and then wrap tightly.

How to make garlic bread on the Weber Q?

You’re only 20 minutes away from having the best garlic bread ever, so let’s get on with it because I’m sure you’re getting hungry by now.

Weber Q Garlic Bread

Place both pieces of garlic bread buttered side down.

Family Q: Turn the small gas control knob off, and the large control knob down to the medium/middle setting.

Baby Q: Turn the gas control knob down to the medium/middle position.

Try to maintain a temperature between 180°C (355°F) and 200°C (390°F) and set.

Set a timer for 10 minutes and make sure to close the lid for the duration of the cook.

Next, Remove the garlic bread from the Weber Q and carefully open both foil packs.

Weber Q Garlic Bread

Sprinkle the desired amount of grated mozzarella and parmesan cheese (optional) over the top.

Fold the sides of the foil inwards to protect the bread from burning.

Place the garlic bread back into the Weber Q, and turn the large gas control knob to the medium/high position.

Close the lid and set a timer for a further 10 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and the crust to get crispy.

To serve your delicious Weber Q garlic bread, slice into fingers and serve with some extra fresh parsley on top.

Most importantly, don’t forget to chow down your amazing homemade garlic bread with your favourite pizza and cold beer.

Can I bake your garlic bread recipe in the oven?

Absolutely, and it’s really easy.

Follow the same process until you get to the cooking part of the recipe. Preheat your oven to 180°C (355°F) for 10-15 minutes.

Next, remove the garlic bread and unpack both from the foil.

Sprinkle the cheese and place back in the oven uncovered for a further 5 minutes until the edges of the bread are crispy and the cheese has melted.

Our favourite Italian recipes to serve with garlic bread

Earlier, I mentioned serving our Weber Q garlic bread recipe with our amazing Weber Q meat-lovers pizza and cheesy crust pizza. Still, we have some other favourites we would like to share.

Bacon-Wrapped Cannelloni – Herbed Lamb and beef inside and wrapped in bacon on the outside. And topped with a fantastic herbed passata then baked in the oven. The flavours, when combined with garlic bread, are to die for.

Cheesy Weber Q Beef and Pork Lasagne – I have tried many homemade lasagne recipes in my time. But this one is the best by far. The bechamel is creamy, and the flavours are insane. And it’s made on the Weber Q.
