Weber Q Lamb Cutlets

Don’t worry, guys, I’ve added oven directions for those that don’t own a Weber Q. After all, they are so good I want everyone to be able to try them.

To best describe the flavours of the dipping sauce, it would be that it has a slight tang.

And adding chilli flakes gives it just a fraction of heat but not enough to overpower the sauce making it too hot.

I bring the power of the tang down by using sugar and a squeeze of lime, giving the greek yoghurt mint sauce the correct balance.

When you dip your lamb cutlet into the sauce for the first time, you’ll be coming back for more.

What Ingredients do I Need to Make Weber Q Lamb Cutlets?

Ten ingredients make up the entire recipe, and that’s including the lamb cutlets.

To make the lamb cutlets, you will need:

Weber Q Lamb Cutlets
  • Lamb Cutlets/Chops
  • Sea Salt
  • Cracked Pepper
  • Olive Oil

To create the yummy greek yoghurt mint dipping sauce, your also going to need:

Weber Q Lamb Cutlets
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Garlic
  • Fresh Mint
  • Chilli Flakes
  • Lime
  • Sugar

It’s actually a pretty short shopping list considering and some of the ingredients, no doubt, you already have in your pantry.

How to Make the Greek Yoghurt Dipping Sauce?

Dice a single garlic clove and add to a small mixing bowl. Make sure to dice the garlic super small.

You don’t want to get that in your mouth. Alternatively, you can use a teaspoon of crushed garlic.

Dice the fresh mint and add it with the garlic. If you’re asking yourself why I don’t use dried mint leaves.

Because you won’t get the potency from dried mint leaves like you would fresh, and the greek yogurt will be too powerful.

What you’re looking for is a hint of mint flavour. Similar to somebody sitting in the back row at the theatre and is seen but not heard.

Yes, I know, my analogy sucks, but I hope you get the picture.

Ok, on with the recipe!

Next, add the final ingredients, greek yoghurt, chilli flakes, sugar salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lime.

Finally, mix the ingredients together thoroughly.

Place plastic kitchen wrap over the mixing bowl and pop it into the fridge until your Weber Q lamb cutlets are ready to be served.

How to Cook Lamb Cutlets on the Weber Q?

Set up your Weber Q for direct cooking, making sure that your grill is clean.

Family Q: Turn both gas control knobs to the Start/HI position.

Baby Q/Medium: Turn the Single gas control knob to the Start/HI position.

Close the lid and preheat your Weber Q for 10 minutes.

Rub a small amount of olive oil onto your lamb cutlets and sprinkle salt and pepper onto the top, bottom and sides of your lamb cutlets.

Once your Weber Q has preheated, pop your lamb cutlets onto the centre of the grill.

Power Tip: Keep your cutlets tucked in tightly to each other. This will ensure your Weber Q lamb cutlets stay nice and juicy and prevent them from drying out.

Weber Q Lamb Cutlets

Family Q: Turn the small gas control knob down to low, and the large control knob down 2-3 notches and close the lid.

Baby Q/Medium: Turn the single gas control knob down to the medium position. If you find your Baby Q is losing too much heat, simply turn it up to HI.

Set a timer for 3 minutes, then quickly turn your Weber Q lamb cutlets and set another 3-minute timer.

Keep your lid closed as much as possible throughout the cook to maximise the juiciness of the lamb cutlets.

If you prefer your lamb cutlets to be medium-rare, insert a meat thermometer such as the Inkbird wireless meat thermometer from Amazon into one of the cutlets.

Continue to monitor the internal temp until it reaches 57°C (135°F).

And that’s all there is to it!

Dip your Weber Q lamb cutlets into the Greek Yogurt mint dipping sauce you prepared earlier and enjoy.

How To Cook Lamb Cutlets In The Oven?

I promised I would give you oven directions, and here they are!

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F)

Drizzle olive oil over the lamb cutlets and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Place the lamb cutlets onto a baking tray and cook for 6 minutes, turning halfway.

This time will cook the lamb cutlets to a medium-rare or internal temperature of 57°C (135°F).

Use an instant-read thermometer to help reach your desired doneness.

Not only are lamb cutlets super easy to cook in an oven, but they also cook fast.
