5-6Small to Medium PotatoesCut to 1/2 cm thick
3/4CupSpring OnionCut
1CupMushrooms
1CupDiced Bacon
2CupPizza Blend CheeseShredded
2tspGarlic Powder
1/2tspRosemary
1/2tspThyme
Salt & PepperTo Taste
300mlHeavy Whipping Cream (thickened cream)
Instructions
Prepping The Potato Bake Layer 1
Wash and peel potatoes, then slice approx 1/2cm in thick.
In a large aluminum tray cover bottom and sides with a small amount of olive oil.
Place sliced potato pieces onto the bottom of the tray making sure to cover as much of the bottom as possible.
Sprinkle the spring onion and mushrooms evenly over the potatoes.
Sprinkle garlic powder, rosemary and thyme evenly.
Add the pizza blend cheese and spread evenly over the top, making sure to cover as much as possible.
Spread diced bacon evenly over the cheese.
Prepping The Potato Bake Layer 2
Repeat layer 1 until the garlic powder, rosemary and thyme has been added.
Skip adding the pizza blend cheese for layer 2, but add more diced bacon sprinkling it evenly.
Evenly pour 300ml of thickened cream over the potatoes, making sure to fill the gaps. Finally season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cover the top of the tray with aluminum.
Starting The Weber Q Grill
Place a new convection tray onto the grill and the trivet onto the convection tray.
For Weber Q Family Owners Start the Weber Q by turning the large control knob to the START/HI position and the small control to the High Position and Ignite.Weber Baby Q owners turn the control knob to the START/HIGH position and Ignite.
Close the lid and let it heat up for 10-15 minutes.
Cooking The Potato Bake First Stage: 30 Minutes
Lift the lid on the Weber Q and place the potato bake onto the trivet and close the lid.
For Weber Q family owners turn the small control to the off position and the large control knob the the roast setting which is halfway.For Weber Baby Q owners turn the control knob to the roast setting which is halfway.
Let the temperature fall naturally and set a timer for 30 minutes.
Cooking The Potato Bake Second Stage: 30 Minutes
Lift the lid of the Weber Q and remove the aluminum cover that was placed earlier onto the potato bake. Set a timer for a further 30 minuites.
Close the lid and try to maintain the temperature at all times between 190°C (374°F) and 230°C (446°F)
Cooking The Potato Bake Third Stage: 30-45 Minutes
Lift the lid of the Weber Q and add the final layer of pizza blend cheese evenly across the top covering as much as possible of the potatoes. Add a dash more salt and pepper if required.
Set a timer for a further 30 minutes or add more time as required until cheese is golden brown.
Set aside and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Turn the control knob to the off position and turn of the gas.
Notes
