French Toasted Hot Cross Buns

Ingredients

  • 6 Hot Cross Buns Store bought or Homemade
  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Mixed Spice

Instructions

  • You can use either store brought Hot Cross Buns for this or use our Hot Cross Bun Recipe
  • Add eggs and milk into a bowl or shallow dish and whisk well. Add the vanilla extract, cinnamon and mixed spices and whisk to combine.
  • Place a frypan over medium heat, add a small amount of butter, allowing it to melt while coating the base of the pan.
  • Cut the hot cross buns in half, dip into the french toast mix and allow excess to drip off. Place onto the frypan and allow to cook till golden brown.
  • Once golden brown, you can flip them over to toast the other side, but is optional.
