Scrumptious and Simple Cinnamon Vanilla French Toast

A nice easy breakfast that will make use of bread you are going to have to throw in the bin.

  • 2 Eggs
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Caster Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 6 Slices Bread


  • Whisk the eggs in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Add milk, caster sugar, vanilla extract and cinnamon. Whisk until all combined and the caster sugar is dissolved.
  • Place the mixture into a flat bottom container, big enough to put a slice of bread into.
  • Melt butter on a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Coat both sides of the bread in the mixture and allow any excess to drain off before placing on the skillet.
  • Cook until both sides are brown and serve.


Serve with some vanilla ice cream or yogurt and strawberries, with a sprinkle of cinnamon. You can add a drizzle of maple syrup, but try not to add too much as it will overpower the taste of the vanilla and cinnamon.
